When
Old Basing resident Pete Wooldridge, of Hatch Lane, was invited on a
corporate day out to the Silverstone racing circuit this week, competing
against 18 other hopefuls, it was beyond his wildest dreams that he would
walk away with the “Driver of the Day” trophy.
Behind the wheel of a powerful Caterham 7 two seat fun car, in heavy rain and high winds on the “Drift Course”, Pete was not necessarily driving the fastest, but managed to steal the day on the slippery Silverstone track, by accruing additional points for driving the car in spectacular fashion with the rear wheels leading the way the majority of the time.
Pete’s previous competitive driving experience had been restricted to Go Carts – but with this new found untapped expertise watch out Lewis!
