Post offices face possible closure.
CAMPAIGNS have been launched in response to today's official announcement that several post offices in north Hampshire are threatened with closure.
Belle Vue Road, Old Basing, has been earmarked for closure, whilst branch in St Mary Bourne may be replaced by an outreach service, such as a mobile service.
Several campaigns have already been launched, including petition by the staff of Belle Vue Road.
Local councillors in a number of areas are helping to raise the issue and local MPs Maria Miller and Sir George Young have also offered support.
A six-week public consultation has begun and residents have until November 26 to make their feelings known by writing to Tim Nickolls, National Consultation Team, Freepost Consultation Team or emailing consultation@postoffice.co.uk
