Welcome
to our Spring Update. We are delighted to say our Xmas Sponsored Stay raised
over £237 for the Loddon School, which is the local charity we are
sponsoring this year. We also ran a successful weekend training course with
the trainer Lorraine Bennett in February. Best of all congratulations to Ann
Fox, who was part of the Southern Obedience Team, and Denise Neale, who took
part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen’s Competition. They both did
exceptionally well at Crufts this year.
We have a busy Spring and Summer ahead. Aside from our usual training
sessions we have
The Hampshire Rally
on Bank
Holiday Monday, 4 May, in War Memorial Park. This is a friendly
dog obedience competition between the different dog training clubs in
Hampshire. It’s great fun and lasts all day. Then
on
Saturday 20 June we are running an
Open
Obedience Show again in War Memorial Park and another all day
event. Do come along to either event. Everyone is welcome and it’s free to
watch!
We continue to offer various training sessions
including Puppy and Beginners classes, training for the Kennel Club’s Good
Citizens schemes and Competitive Obedience Training. We can also help with
any problems you may be encountering with your dog.
We are a non-profit making organisation run by volunteers
and we keep costs as low as possible. None of our trainers are paid for the
time they give.
We are the only Kennel Club registered dog club in
town.
Puppy
Classes cost £3 per session. Our Beginners Course costs £50 for 10 sessions.
For all other classes we ask you to join our Club. Annual Joint Membership
still costs £15 and Individual Membership, £10, with classes costing only £3
per session. Apart from our Beginners Courses, all our classes are “Pay as
You Go”. Great Value.
So come and join us. We run on Monday nights from 6.45pm to 10.30pm (class
dependent).
