Footpath in Milkingpen Lane

A reader has kindly lent me a letter sent to her recently about work that is to commence on the new footpath in Milkingpen lane.  The work is to commence on the 10th of January (weather permitting I suppose).

Apparently it only runs the short distance from Church lane to Manor lane.  I thought that it was to run the length of Milkingpen Lane?  Click on the letter to read it in full.

I would have thought it was obvious that a footpath cannot possibly be constructed on Milkingpen Lane between The Street and the railway bridge.  The road is barely two cars wide, with property hard against the road much of the way.

Whether there is then any point in constructing a footpath merely between Church Lane and Manor Lane remains a moot point
