A Star in the Making

By Tony Tuck

Alexandra Waite-Roberts lives in Paddockfield Old Basing, and when she was asked to perform with a professional Jazz Band for an afternoon of relaxed Jazz at The Bolton Arms she was delighted as this is her local public house.

Alexandra trained with the Doris Holford Stage School in London, and locally with the Chandelle Stage School, before successfully obtaining a place at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy.

She was awarded a full scholarship place for her last three years there, culminating in her being made Head Girl.

Alexandra has performed in many venues in the UK, playing title roles in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and the Wizard of Oz to name but a few.

This Christmas she is thrilled to be appearing as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin at the Pomegranate Theatre in Chesterfield.

Last year she was lucky enough to be appointed the position of Dance Captain for the English National Opera's production of Le Grand Macabre at the London Coliseum.

Last Sunday, Alexandra performed songs such as Dream a Little Dream of Me, Summertime and I Get A Kick Out of You amongst others and would like to thank Mikki and Duncan proprietors of The Bolton Arms for giving her the opportunity to perform in her home village.
