genealogy

This is becoming an ever popular pastime so we thought that perhaps we could start  this section to help people with their research.  Perhaps you have got stuck and might need help from others.  Do you have a question that perhaps someone else in our community may know the answer to?  This section is also available for you to appeal to the Old Basing and Lychpit community for information about your ancestors, or indeed for you to share your family tree with us.  If there is any other information you think this section could helpfully contain, or links to other web sites, then please let us know at webman@basinga.org.uk

Your Links
Irene has passed me the following links that she highly recommends.  The first is Genes Re-United, http://www.genesreunited.co.uk, here you can create your own family tree online and see how many other on line trees it can link up with.  There is also a search facility available.  The site also seems to find possible connections to other peoples trees, and will notify you of these possibilities.  Worth a look.

The second is Family Search,  http://www.familysearch.org, which provides numerous searchable databases to try and find birth/death/marriage entries etc.  Again, you can define your own information and share this with other registered users.  Also worth a look.

Thanks Irene.
