What we could NOT fit into the July Magazine

STAX presents

The Crucible
Thursday 14 and Friday 15 July 2011 7.30pm
The Haymarket

STAX returns to The Haymarket with two performances of The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 July at 7.30pm.

Anvil Arts’ youth performance group tackle a twentieth century classic by one of America’s greatest playwrights. Suspicion, superstition, bigotry and ignorance rip apart a small town in this gripping evocation of the Salem witch trials. When the daughter of the local preacher falls ill for no apparent reason, rumours begin to spread that she was one of a group of girls dancing in the woods. Was it a Pagan ceremony or innocent high spirits?

Tensions and secrets within the tight-knit community rise to the surface as deadly accusations start to fly.

Suitable for all ages.
