Guidance Notes
We have provided the following notes for your guidance and to give you some
ideas.
The photo depicting "old" does not necessarily have to be taken many years
ago. It could be a modern photograph of something that is old.
The two photos for each entry should be arranged in an A4 format (either
portrait or landscape) maximum with a descriptive couple of lines of text to
link the two photos as “Old Basing and Lychpit, Past and Present”.
Layout Suggestions
Each entry should consist of a single sheet of A4 which contains two
photographs and some text linking them. Here are three examples of
acceptable file formats:
To be continued:
Possible ideas for a subject could include:
- Old and new ways of tackling some kind of task.
- Changes to buildings or events over the course of time.
- Two generations, perhaps doing the same task in different ways.
- Different modes of travel, old and new.
- How the local landscape has changed – before and after
Your entries can then be:
- emailed as an attachment with an electronic copy of the entry form to
webman@basinga.org.uk
- sent via the Competition page on www.basinga.org.uk.
- a hard copy of your entry can be sent to 49 Linden Avenue, Old Basing
with a correctly completed entry form.
Remember: Nothing larger than A4 format will be
acceptable.
Entries will be on display in Chineham Library and the display will be
updated regularly, so make your entries early. Entries will also be on view in
the north aisle of St Mary’s Church during the whole of August.
Our Judges this year are three local, highly respected photographers.
