A grade one listed building of mainly 16th century but with indications of earlier periods. The church is first recorded in 1077 and rebuilt in stone in 1089. In the civil war the church was used by Cromwell’s troops as stables and living quarters and firing position to maintain the siege of Basing House. Bullet holes from this period are still visible in the walls.
