The
Wildlife Trust has just launched a photographic competition,
‘Get out There!’, as part of a series of events and activities to celebrate the
Trust’s 50th Anniversary.
The winning entries will be used to produce our 2012 Wildlife Trust Calendar.
We are looking for as many people as possible to get involved and submit their wildlife pictures. We want entries from anyone and everyone; there are no categories as the aim is to get people out and about to enjoy the vast amount of diverse wildlife and wild places in the county.
The competition is online based, and all photographs can be entered using the online ‘flickr group’ which can be accessed via the Wildlife Trust’s website www.hwt.org.uk.
The 1st prize is a £150 voucher to spend with the competition sponsor Castle Cameras and 12 photos will be chosen to create the wildlife calendar with the winning entry featuring on the front of the calendar.
The competition will close on 31st July and judging will commence and be completed in August 2011 by Castle Cameras with the final winning photo being selected by BBC Springwatch presenter and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust Vice President, Chris Packham.
The Calendar will be produced and then presented to the winners by Chris Packham at the Wildlife Trust’s 50th Annual General Meeting being held at Winchester Guildhall on November 5th 2011.
For anyone wanting some hints and tips on wildlife photography, you can also download the Top Photography Tips Leaflet on the Trust’s website.
If you are looking for a good reason to get out into the countryside then the Wildlife Trust’s range of 50th Anniversary guided walks and events might help.
They will provide some great opportunities for wildlife photography across the whole county, and you’ll be able to learn more about our local wildlife and wild places at the same time.
Full details are on the website, and can also be found in our free Wildlife Diary events programme. If you would like your own copy, please contact us on 01489 774400 or email feedback@hwt.org.uk.
