It is with sadness that I write this tribute to Betty Holmes. She has been my dearest friend for nearly 40 years. I will miss her deeply. When I first became a Borough Councillor she took me under her wing. I don’t think I could have coped without her. You could say she was my Mentor.
But with sadness there is also the blessing in having had her friendship. I feel very privileged to call her my friend. I will miss her wisdom, her humour and her love for Old Basing
